Improving External and Internal Transport Accessibility in the Zachodniopomorskie Voivodship - Management Aspects and Economics

Abstract:

Purpose: The main aim of this article is to examine how ongoing and planned infrastructure investments in the West Pomeranian Voivodeship will improve external and internal transport accessibility in the region. Another aim is to analyze how Poland's accession to the European Union has affected the development of the province's transportation infrastructure. Design/Methodology/Approach: Analysis of the level and development of transport infrastructure before and after Poland's accession to the European Union. Conclusions: The results of the analysis show that ongoing and planned infrastructure investments have improved the level of internal transport accessibility in the West Pomeranian region. In addition, the analysis showed that a significant increase in transport accessibility was recorded after Poland's accession to the European Union. Practical Implications: The article will find application in planning work at the regional and local levels. Originality/value: The study of individual components of the region's transport infrastructure before and after Poland's accession to the European Union, together with the determination of the components with the highest growth dynamics, constitutes the originality of the scientific article.
